Win for OBRA on Landfill Decision

Win for OBRA on Landfill Decision - 19 Feb 2023

Ōwhiro Bay Residents Association has been advocating for some time for Wellington City Council to adopt the “piggyback option” for the Southern Landfill. In brief, this means building a new landfill on top of the old one. This solution was recently adopted by WCC.

OBRA members Ali Forrest and Angela Wilson have been our community advocates on this issue. Ali presented to the WCC meeting where the decision to proceed with the “piggyback option” was made.
